Video: Saving Wood – Saving twisted and warped boards

In this video I give you a quick overview of the method I use when I am trying to keep as much width and thickness to a board when it is affected by cupping and twist.

  8. Cutting a severely cupped board in half is one of the first things I would do. I have had to do this on a number of projects. It’s a pretty common practice.

  11. Did you buy a guard for your jointer? That was the old unit with the guard missing, no? Thought you made a wood guard for it, or was that not working out.

  15. Jord when i build furniture i rip pieces into quarters then square up the edges & rejoin them using Festool bisquits. Then procede to use a router sled if the width is over 19″, since my planer is a 20″.

  16. kubo will most likely explain why they didnt use their masks like some
bullshit that mayuri removed their hollow powers because its a dishonor for
a captain to have hollow powers. Just chill people. You always say kubo
wont explain this and then he does and everyone is like: Oh well ok. and
    then it repeats lol.
I mean everyone wanted them to go apeshit but well…kubo trolled them this
time we have to except that dick move and keep hoping that soul king turns
out to be tite kubo himself and ends the series by destroying the universe
along with the naruto manga which takes place in the same universe as
bleach just on another planet..or something

  34. This the exact method I use as well. Many times my wood comes from my
sawyer air dried and after I dry it for another 9 months the cupping shows
up. I will cut the board into pieces and mill them separately and retain
much of the thickness! Most of the wood goes into smaller projects anyways!
    Thanks for sharing!
